Volunteers Needed!

With busy Sundays and lots of extra activities going on during the week, we're in need of some more volunteers to help us keep everything running smoothly. Could you spare a couple of hours from time to time, to help out?

At the moment, we're particularly looking for the following volunteers:

Sunday Welcome Team (10am Service at Central Hall):

We want everyone attending our church to recieve a warm welcome, especially anyone visiting us for the first time, so we need some more volunteers to join our welcome team. Could you help out once a month with welcome at the front door, manning our welcome desk, or serving refreshments? If so, or to find out more, please speak to Dan Scutt, or email central@newcommunity.org.uk.

Community Café Friendly Faces:

Our Community Café runs every Sunday afternoon from 4.30-6pm, and offers a free hot meal to anyone in need. Serving 70-100 guests each week, the café provides a safe and friendly environment for people who are homeless, vulnerably housed or lonely, regardless of an individual's beliefs, background or situation.

Although we have a number of volunteers, we have a particular need for more Christians (especially those from our church) to get involved and be 'friendly faces' to the guests. The time commitment can be as often or as infrequent as you like, and it's a great way to practically help those in need in our local community. Those who currently volunteer find themselves blessed and fulfilled through their serving, and we're sure you'll also feel the same.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to find out more, please speak to Katrina Mack, or email communitycafe@newcommunity.org.uk.

Sunday Baby Team (10am Service at Central Hall):

Over the last year, we've had a bit of a baby boom in our church, and now need some more volunteers to help look after the babies during our 10am Sunday service at Central Hall. Could you help out once a month on a Sunday morning from September? If so, or to find out more, please speak to Rachel Sparkman or email nextgen@newcommunity.org.uk

Please note that all recruitment is subject to safer recruitment guidelines.

Knitters:

We want to give all our little ones their very own story sack when they first start in our Sunday children's ministry. The story sack would contain a lovely board book based on Psalm 23, as well as a knitted sheep and shepherd. Do you have the time and skills to knit some sheep and shepherds for us? If so, or to find out more, please speak to Rachel Sparkman or email nextgen@newcommunity.org.uk.
