Volunteers for Hope School

As you probably already know, the New Generation Schools Trust has been given the green light by the Department for Education to open Southampton’s first mainstream Free School in September 2017. Hope Community School will be not-for-profit and state-funded, and will accept Primary school pupils. Although the school will be designated as of religious character, it will be open to and inclusive of people of any or no faith, and is being created to meet the needs of the local community. The school will be opening in a location very close to Central Hall.

In preparation to open the school, we're looking for volunteers to help in a variety of ways at the school during term-time. Could you offer an hour, half a day, or even a full day once a week or month, to help out?

For when the school opens, we especially need people to fill the following volunteer supplementary roles:

- Office assistant
- Teaching assistant
- Lunchtime assistant
- Breakfast club assistant
- Library assistant

Once the school opens, we also need people who can share their skills by supporting curricular or extra-curricular activities, such as:

- Gardening
- Sewing
- Reading
- Computing
- Sport
- Languages, especially Mandarin
- Arts and craft
- Chess
- Singing
- Musical tuition

All these voluntary posts will be recruited safely and may require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

If you're able to volunteer some time to help, or would like to find out more, please email Claire Rodgers (Family Liaison Co-ordinator) at claire.rodgers@hopecommunityschool.org.
