We're joining with other churches, families and individuals around the world, for Thy Kingdom Come, a global prayer movement with a focus on praying for more poeple to come to know Jesus. Find out how you can get involved!
In the days between Ascension (when Jesus was taken back up to heaven) and Pentecost (the coming of the Holy Spirit), Jesus' disciples "all joined together constantly in prayer." (Acts 1:14). These eleven days each year have become a time when the church traditionally focuses on prayer, and Thy Kingdom Come has been building on this tradition since 2016, when the Archbishops of Canterbury and York invited people to join in a wave of prayer. This has grown into an international call to prayer involving churches from over 65 different denominations in 114 countries around the world.
This year, Thy Kingdom Come will run from Thursday 30th May to Sunday 9th June.
Our Thy Kingdom Come Beacon Event:
We're partnering with other local Southampton churches (including St Mary's Church, Lighthouse International Church, and Above Bar Church) to host an official Thy Kingdom Come beacon event at Central Hall. The evening will start with worship, and this will be followed by a time of creative collective prayer on four different themes.
This beacon event is for people from all local churches and denominations, so do spread the word, and make sure you get the date in your diary now!
When: 6pm, Sunday 9th June 2019.
Where: Main Hall, Central Hall, St. Mary Street, Southampton, SO14 1NF.
