Students' Programme

We love students at New Community Church. It was, in fact, students who were involved in the beginnings of the church community, and, some 40+ years on, our rich student heritage continues. We would love you to be part of that!

If you have any questions about our student work, or would like more information on how to get involved, please email: students@newcommunity.org.uk. You can also follow our church Facebook page, to keep up to date with all our events and get a taste of who we are and what we do.

Our Vision

Students Student With Camera

Connect: We don’t want you to just attend - we want you to belong. Getting connected into a church community is vital. At New Community, we want to see all students feeling welcomed.

Grow: University is a unique time in a person’s life. We aim to provide you with amazing opportunities to explore who God is and who God has made you to be.

Empower: We want to empower you to transform society through the power of the Gospel. Whether it's in a lecture theatre or a pub, in the street where you live or in your surrounding community, we want you to be empowered to impact the world around you.

What We Do

Students Social2

  • Social Activities: There are always lots of social events for you to come along to, including lunches, barbecues, pub visits, movie nights, and more. These are a great way to get to know other students and make friends.
  • Connect Groups: Connect groups are small groups which meet outside of the larger church meetings, and are a place where we can discuss our faith and grow together and in our relationship with God. We encourage everyone to be part of a connect group, as it is a great way to feel part of the church community and to meet new people. We normally run a few specific student connect groups each year.

  • Holidays: There are usually opportunities for our students to go away together during the year. We often have a weekend away in February, and many of our students also go to Momentum, a Christian event during the summer.

Autumn/Winter Term 2018

Student Worker And Student Lunch

If you're looking for a church to settle at during your time at uni, we'd love to welcome you and help you feel at home at New Community Central. You'll find a warm welcome at any of our Sunday services, socials or other events, and there'll be plenty of other students to get to know. We look forward to saying hello!

Here's a snapshot of some of the things we've got coming up this autumn-winter term:

Student Lunches:
We're running a series of free student lunches after our 10am Sunday service at Central Hall, giving you a chance to find out more about us, meet our student workers, and get to know other students. There's no pressure to commit to our church, so just come along and have lunch with us and see what we're like! More details are on our Student Lunches page.

Socials:
We always have lots of socials to help you get to know us and other students better. Everyone's welcome, so invite your friends and housemates! Our church Facebook page is the best place to get details of any upcoming socials.

Connect Groups:
We'll be running a couple of student connect groups, and these small groups are great for building friendships and growing in your faith. Chat to one of our student team on a Sunday to find out more.

Outreach:
We’re planning some exciting outreach and evangelism opportunities. Keep an eye on our church Facebook page for more details coming soon.

Finally, make sure you follow us on Facebook, so you can easily keep up to date with all our events and activities. We look forward to seeing you soon!
