Lady Praying

'Thy Kingdom Come' Prayer Days

We're joining with other churches, families and individuals around the world, for 'Thy Kingdom Come', a global prayer movement with a focus on praying for more poeple to come to know Jesus. Find out how you can get involved!

In the days between Ascension (when Jesus was taken back up to heaven) and Pentecost (the coming of the Holy Spirit), Jesus' disciples "all joined together constantly in prayer." (Acts 1:14). These eleven days each year have become a time when the church traditionally focuses on prayer, and 'Thy Kingdom Come' built on this tradition last year, after the Archbishops of Canterbury and York invited people to join in a wave of prayer. Over 100,000 Christians from across the globe took part in 'Thy Kingdom Come' last year.

The vision for 'Thy Kingdom Come' is to see all of God's people united in prayer for the Holy Spirit to help them be effective witnesses to Jesus and to play their part in the transformation of communities.

During the time between Ascension and Pentecost (25th May to 4th June), we will be holding a range of beacon events where we can meet together to worship and to pray in new ways for our families, friends, colleagues and neighbours to come to know Jesus. You can find out more about these events below.

We are also encouraging individuals and families to explore new ways to pray during this time. Take a look at the 'Thy Kingdom Come' website for practical prayer resources that suit all ages and lifestyles, and see what prayer activities you could incorporate into your day.
