News update April 2010 - Training Courses Restarting

Following a review of Central Counselling and Training Service (CCTS) a new team is being developed to offer training. The team will be offering the Introduction to Christian Pastoral Counselling over May, June and July. We hope to be able to look at other training developing in the next 12 months.

CCTS is:
  • A professional counselling service, offering a Christ-centred model of counselling, taking referrals from churches, secular organisations, and members of the public. The model of counselling had to be flexible so that people without a faith or any religious background could be helped too;
  • A series of professionally and academically recognised counselling courses, which would equip people for various pastoral and secular roles, as well as a counselling career if desired;
  • A series of community/ educative groups. Each group would offer people with or without a faith the opportunity to discuss topics such as assertion, stress, anger-management etc., and gain support while doing so.

CCTS is a pioneering resource operating in all three areas, and successfully reaching out to the community.
