The Fourth Christmas Cafe will be happening at Central Hall from 24th December through to 28th December 2009
Doors open to guests from 1:00pm - 5:00pm
The café will open between 1pm and 5pm every afternoon from Thursday 24th December to Monday 28th December to offer a friendly face, a coffee, warm food and some entertainment.
The vision is to provide a safe and caring environment for the homeless, vulnerable and lonely people in our city. The cafe will be a peaceful place where individuals who may otherwise find Christmas hard can come and find friendship and have some fun. We are expecting up to 100 guests each day. On Christmas Day we will be serving a traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings and will be giving out presents.
This year’s team is again looking for support. Volunteers would be required from 12:15pm – 5:45pm on the days they are helping, and there is a training day on 12th December providing necessary health & safety information and further details.
If you cannot volunteer this year but would still like to be involved, we also need donations of various goods for presents, money to buy food etc. and it is always good if people are prepared to pray! We need donations of the following items; gloves, hats, scarves, socks and sleeping-bags (if wrapped please mark male or female and indicate contents), wrapping paper, mince pies and Christmas cakes and Christmas crackers. We also would like to borrow board games (please mark with name if they are to be returned).
Many thanks for your support, if you have any questions or want to get involved please contact Mat Comer at: christmascafe@newcommunity.org.uk
