Coffee Shop at Central Hall

coffeeshop_peopleFor a long while there has been a growing conviction amongst many of the church membership that we should open up the building at Central Hall to the community around us in Southampton. Over the last six months, as God has been challenging us about 'being the message', the Leadership Team have felt that we really need to get on and do it!

As a first stage we want to open a cafe in Central Hall that runs throughout the week. We want it to coffeeshopbe a place where students, local people and those who work in the area can come and get some good food and great coffee - a place where people feel at home and the walls between church and the communities around us begin to be broken down.

We will be transforming the corridor area between the main foyer and Small Hall and opening up the entrance between the men's toilets and Room 4.

The aim is for the cafe to be self-funding but it will have some obvious costs to get it up and running. There are several ways in which you could help us achieve this project together.

  • If you are able to provide some financial support or an interest free loan to help get it off the ground we'd love to hear from you.
  • We want this to be a project that we do together and so we invite you to join us as a partner for just £20 per month for a limited period of 6 months and in return, on receipt of a completed standing order form below (please gift aid as well if you can), we will send you a Partnership Card entitling you to TEN FREE COFFEES at the new Coffee Shop!

We'd also love to hear from you if you've got some experience of cafe design, and we will of course need some volunteers to run the cafe once it's up and running.

The cafe is just the start - we would love to see all sorts of things going on in the building to serve those around us - local residents, students, local business people - bringing something of the blessing of God to our neighbours. So if you have any ideas, things you feel would bless the community we seek to serve, then please let us know. You can contact Sim at Central Hall if you're able to help in any way.
