Trip to Burkina Faso - 20 June to 3 July

 

Burkina FasoBurkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world, listed in UN 50 poorest countries in 2004 and the estimated GDP per capita, lists Burkina Faso in bottom 30 countries in the world.

  • Population 13 million
  • Life expectancy is below 50 years
  • Frequent droughts and desertification severely affect agricultural activities
  • Landlocked by 6 neighbouring countries
  • French speaking

Burkina Faso is mainly a nominal Muslim country besides traditional African religion, with approximately 10% Christian (predominantly Catholic).

 

 

 

 

Burkina TeamThe team will be visiting and working alongside David Zopoula, a pastor and leader, responsible for over 200 churches around the south of Burkina Faso and northern Ghana. He has significant influence in the country and has recently become the superintendent of the Burkina Faso Evangelical Pentecostal Assembly. David is also responsible for two bible translation centres, a bible school, a centre for the blind, an orphanage and major Church planting and outreach projects.

 
During their time in Burkina the team will be involved with:-

  • Piloting Schools of Ministry training in Leo
  • Helping out in nutrition centre and orphanage
  • Speaking in churches in cities and rural villages
  • Outreach in northern Ghana
  • Helping with various children’s activities
  • Taking aid & financial support to some of the poorer regions.
