Fellowship of the King with Les & Chris Thomas
| |
In 1996 an English couple, involved in ministry and who had relocated to Spain in the mid-1980s were commissioned by the leadership of the Spanish-speaking evangelical church where they were serving, to plant an English-speaking fellowship on the eastern Costa del Sol. Since then the Fellowship of the King has grown into a family of six churches spread across the three south-eastern provinces of Andalucia. No longer simply English-speaking, the fellowship is now international in character as a typical Sunday could see as many as twenty nations represented in its congregations. Les & Chris Thomas, who have a 10-year old daughter, Esther, continue as overseers and team leaders of the Fellowship of the King. They place a strong emphasis on local church and the releasing of local leadership into their full potential and actively promote a pattern of team ministry intended to embrace the widest possible sweep of church membership. The churches each have their distinctives but are all committed to reaching into their multi-cultural local communities; something which the nature of the team itself reflects, being drawn from at least a dozen different nations.
