What is same image DIFFERENT PACKAGE?

In the church and community we will always have people with differing needs, some of them lifelong, others shorter term. In fact we all have needs at some point in our lives.

As we experience our own or another's difficulty, difference or disability, we are enabled to meet God in new ways. He revels the width and the depth of His ability, and shows us the height and length we can reach too.

Same Image, Different Package is a teaching and training initiative designed to equip people to embrace those with special needs. It is intended to help us find the 'treasure' God has hidden in difficulty, difference and disability.

Who is same image DIFFERENT PACKAGE?

Carol Collier works at New Community Church as a Pastoral Assistant with for those with special needs across the church. She has served in this role for several years. Carol believes that all people, and all situations, have a valuable 'treasure' from God with them. She further sees that some of these treasures can 'go missing' on account of the type of care we offer, or fail to offer, those with difficulty, difference and disability.

Training has been developed at central Hall and a team of people are now being used within the church to support this creative work. Some members of the team have significant needs themselves. The course is offered to support others in pastoral work across a wide range of church backgrounds.
