Allan Cox

 

Email: ac@newcommunity.org.uk  Allan leads the Eastleigh Congregation of New Community along with his wife Lizzie and they have three grown children. Allan has been part of the church leadership team for over 25 years. Having worked in banking for over 12 years Allan then took up full time employment with the church in 1985 when leading the Portswood congregation. As the church drew all its congregations together he emerged as the Pastoral Director and was instrumental in helping establish a variety of pastoral resources, two of which were the Central Counselling and Training Service, and a discipleship course on relationships called Get Real!   Allan loves to sing and play piano and is a very able worship leader. In recent years Allan has become a mentor/coach to an increasing number of church leaders both here and abroad and taken responsibility for facilitating the very broad overseas involvement of the church under the name of Beyond These Shores. Locally, he represents Churches Together in Eastleigh on the Eastleigh Strategic Partnership and keenly promotes the needs of the local community.   Allan enjoys swimming, walking, an occasional game of golf and, given the opportunity, a game of scrabble which he even takes on his travels. He has been known to play the game on many continents and is quite competitive, nearly missing a flight home on one occasion and on another becoming the star attraction on a train journey.
