On Saturday the 31st of October 2009 we had our Fit Lives launch at Fleming Park Leisure Centre. It was an alternative Halloween activity morning for kids. We had a great morning down there and had at least 50 kids participated in the activities we had going on.

We had an arts and crafts room where the kids made jar lanterns and pictures and we also had face painting in the café area which not only drew in the kids but also some adults had there faces done too.

We had a great team of volunteers and I want to thank everyone for coming over and helping out on the day. We had some great conversations with the parents and I really think our presence in the centre was given a positive boost by the event.

Fit Lives is not going on weekly and the team are working really hard at building relationships with not only the staff at the centre but also with other members. We would value your prayers as we look at different initiatives to launch in the future.

Fit Lives like most things has been affected by the snow this New Year as Lyn and I have not made it in for the Wednesday mornings! But we met in the cafe at Feming Park on Monday to plan and pray together. Hopefully our first event will be on Friday 12th February between 3-5pm. We will be having a book stall as a focal point with books on relationships and will be giving out red roses and (if the cafe allows) cup cakes!
We are trying to raise our profile with events such as this so that more people will know who we are.
