Missional Communities launch

We will be launching four new missional communities this week in our attempt to reach out to those who do not yet know the Lord.

This is a joint initiative between New Community Central and City Life Church.

Date: March 7th 2010

Venue: Central Hall

Central Coffee will be open from 6.00pm

  1. The Streets
Over the past couple of years our ministry to the more vulnerable members of our community has increased through the work of the Community Café, YMCA drop-in, Unique Changes women’s group and the Target men’s group. We want to develop the community around these groups and see what church can look like in this environment.

Meeting in Room 4 from 6.30pm.

      2. Selah

A gathering for people looking for church done differently with a particular missional focus on people looking for spiritual reality – but not always in the right places! This group will meet fortnightly and will develop community and mission at other times throughout the week.

Meeting in Room 2 from 6.30pm.

  1. International
There are a growing number of people in our church community from across the globe. We will be creating a place of gathering on Sunday evenings to encourage and support these people and help them in their mission.

Meeting in Room 3 from 6.30pm.

  1. Oasis Academies
We are partnering with Oasis in the development of two Academies in Southampton – in Sholing on the east side of the city and Lord’s Hill on the west. Part of the vision for these Academies is to have church at the heart of each school community. We want to develop a community of people who will be able to serve the 1800+ young people and their families who attend these schools. This group will meet fortnightly with various activities happening in the Academies throughout the month.

Meeting in Room 1 from 6.30pm.
