Eastleigh 10K race
The B & Q Eastleigh 10K is celebrating its 25th an- niversary this year.
This year the race has its biggest ever entry of up to 2000 runners including international athletes.
This race is one of the biggest events on the Eastleigh Calendar and last year it raised over £8000 for local charities.

Last year we handed out 1,500 pieces of cake, banan- as, teas and coffees, marshalled and de-tagged.

This year we are also responsible for the start line so we are looking for even more volunteers.
If you would like to bake cakes please contact
Lizzie Cox for the recipe 8067 6608.

29 March (Race day)

For the second year we helped out at the Eastleigh 10K Run last Sunday morning. This time we helped at both the start and finish line, making and handing out over 1,500 pieces of fruit cake as well as water and juice to the runners at the finish and welcoming over 200 runners and supporters with tea and coffee and a chat on the Red Bus. The recipe for the fruit cake was again requested.
The weather was bright and warm, unlike last year, and this along with greater confidence about what we were doing meant that most of us had the opportunity to enjoy the race. Michelle Fisher, Simon Saunders and Paul Handley-Garland did us proud all completing the run in very good times - will they be joined by others next year? There were many opportunities for conversations and we did a great job representing the church in Eastleigh.
Again Neil O'Connell did a wonderful job organising us and heading up the day for us, so much so that we're already looking forward to next year.
Sunday 28 March 2010
For the third year running we helped at the Eastleigh B & Q 10K road race. along with the famous fruit cake we served over 300 cups of tea & coffee.
We were well reprersented in the race itself by James Farr, Michelle fisher, Paul Handley-Garland, Judith Scott & Paul Smith.
